MapCare provides piece of mind knowing your device will be up-to-date, free of charge for 3 years. Please follow the instructions below to update your X901D, X208AU, X801D-U, X108AU, INE-W977A, INE-W997D and X701D navigation products.
Downloads:
Press ‘Continue as Guest’ (or create an account now, as you will need to later). Next, select ‘Alpine Nav 2015’ (refers toX901D, X801D-U, X108AU, INE-W997D and X701D) as your Product Selection. Press Continue.
Now you can click “Download” and install the Naviextras Toolbox. This is the PC software required to download maps.
Requirements and limitations:
The Map Update is performed in 3 simple steps. Here’s a brief overview of the process:
1. Collect device information from your navigation unit onto a blank USB Stick.
2. Connect the USB Stick to the computer with Naviextras Toolbox open, click the update tab on the right-hand side of the Toolbox – load the update onto your USB Stick.
3. Connect USB Stick to your navigation unit and perform update.
STEP ONE: Collect device information from X901D / X208AU / X801D-U / X108AU / INE-W977A / INE-W997D / X701D to a USB Stick
1. Power on the navigation system by turning on the ignition. Connect the USB stick to the navigation system.
2. Go to the Navigation Menu (when on navigation, swipe from the right side of the screen to the left side of the screen) > Settings (Spanner top right-hand corner) > Then press “Update”.
Note: The ‘Update’ button will only be selectable if a USB stick is connected.
3. Synctool will start up. Initialization screen may take up to a minute or so, this is normal.
4. Press “YES” to Collect Device Information. This should take approximately 1 minute.
Note: Do not disconnect the USB Stick or turn the vehicle off during this step.
5. Remove the USB Stick. Press “OK”.
STEP TWO: Download new or changed content to USB Stick
1. Connect the USB Stick to your PC.
2. Start the Naviextras Toolbox. The prepared USB stick will be recognised asX901D, X801D-U, X108AU, INE-W997D and X701D (Alpine Navi 2015). At this point you will need to create a login for Naviextras, and then log-in on the Naxiextras Toolbox, once asked to do so.
Note: This is not an Alpine account, and must be created on the Naviextras website.
3. Open the Updates tab located on the left-hand side of the Naviextras toolbox. It will display “You have a map update available etc”. Click on “Install”.
4. Once it has finished, safely remove the USB stick from your PC.
STEP THREE: Loading new or changed map to X901D / X208AU / X801D-U / X108AU / INE-W977A / INE-W997D / X701D
1. Power on the navigation system by turning on the ignition and insert the USB.
2. Like in STEP ONE, go to the Navigation Menu (when on navigation, swipe from the right side of the screen to the left side of the screen) > Settings (Spanner top right-hand corner) > Then press “Update”.
Note: The ‘Update’ button will only be selectable if a USB stick is connected.
3. Synctool will start up. Initialization screen may take up to a minute or so, this is normal.
4. Confirm that you want to perform the update with “YES”. This process should take around 3 minutes, however it may take longer depending on the size of the update, as every update has different amounts of content.
Note: Do not disconnect the USB Stick or turn the vehicle off during this step.
5. Once finished, you will receive a message saying “Content update successful.”. You may now remove the USB Stick, and press OK. The navigation system will restart automatically.
